What you'll be able to do
- Handle a motorboat and manoeuvre inside a marina
- Anchor properly, and get the anchor back up
- Use the VHF radio at a basic level
- Read buoyage and apply the collision regulations

We'll be straight with you, even though the PER is the more expensive course for us to sell: if you're likely to charter sailing yachts or anything over 8 metres, go straight to the PER. The PNB makes sense if your boat is small, has an engine, and you're not planning to change it.
Yes, and you save part of the exam: PNB holders only sit units 7 to 11. But the practicals don't carry over — the PER's 16 hours have to be done in full, and so does the SRC.
No. They're different courses and the PNB one doesn't replace it. If you move up to the PER, you still have to do the SRC.
Not on its own. Like every Spanish recreational licence, the PNB is a motor licence — sail is added through the 16-hour endorsement.
